Kayaking Tours on Yellowstone Lake

Price: $127 per person, 4 hours, 5 miles, Meets at 8 AM

Guided kayak tour on Yellowstone Lake. Paddle from Grant Village Marina to the West Thumb Geyser Basin and back. Dip your blade into the waters above Yellowstone’s super volcano. The guide will keep an eye on you and tell you tales of native peoples who lived next to the geysers on the lakeshore. We launch early to spot wildlife and enjoy the still waters. Most of all, we like to have fun! It takes some elbow grease to move the kayak, but the experience on the water is worth it. This is the best way to see the West Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone. We have one launch per day in the morning. Wind conditions frequently create water hazards in the afternoon that we try to avoid. Single kayaks provided.

 This is a moderate, five-mile paddle, at high elevation. Minimum age 15.

You need: Sunscreen, 2 Liters of water per person, and a fleece layer (no cotton).

Kayaking Tour meets at the Grant Village Marina. Parking is on Grant Marina Road near the boat launch. About a mile after entering the Grant Village Area, you will turn right just before the Grant Village General Store. The meeting location is two miles from the South Entrance Road and four miles from West Thumb Geyser Basin.

No experience necessary. Due to high elevation, being physically fit is required. Minimum age 15.

Tours begin early to avoid unpredictable afternoon mountain weather. Tours will be canceled for inclement weather. We reserve the right to cancel at anytime with a full refund issued.
